What Are the Benefits of Renewable Energy?

Before you can fully understand the concept of renewable energy, you must understand the current forms or energy used today. Currently the world relies heavily on the energy sources of coal, electricity, and carbon-containing substances such as fossil fuel. These elements, although found within the earth's ecosystem. are neither renewable nor found in abundance. Since electricity is generated from the burning properties of coal and fossil fuel, the usage by consumers increases the harmful effects that are caused by burning coal and carbon-containing substances.

Why are coal and carbon-containing substances harmful?

Carbon based elements are harmful, because they release toxic level of carbon dioxide into the earth's atmosphere. This damaging practice will eventually destroy the earth's ozone and cause irreversible effects to the earth's ecosystem. Plus, these agents contribute too many health related issues such as asthma, bronchitis and other breathing and/or allergic problems. More importantly, these elements are finite and soon will no longer be available for use. And because the earth is running low on both coal and fossil fuels, the price to use these substances as an energy source is sky rocketing.

Renewable energy is also earth based energy. However, renewable energyhas the properties to regenerate and is in great abundance. These sources (such as solar, wind and water) are a major contributor to the earth's longevity and provide an excellent source of natural energy. By combining these natural resources with modern technology, the production of electricity can become much safer and less damaging to the earth ecosystem, and it can reduce the costof production.

There are countless properties which are added benefits to renewable energy. Here are a few:

1.Infinite supply- elements such as the sun, wind and water are in abundance and can generate a continual supply of energy, which will never run out or fall short. Because these natural elements are part of the earths chemical make-up they will always flourish.

2.Cost effective- While some renewable resources are not widely available, many renewable energy users such have reported a drastic decrease in utility cost. The abundance property of renewable energy will never increase the cost for production as the current methods of energy production do. Additionally renewable energy sources may provide financial incentives for solar and wind power users.

3.Earth and Human health - natural renewable energy property do not pose an eminent threat to the earth, animals or humans. They are clean ecological elements, which contribute to the earth's reproduction and longevity. They're non-pollutant elements that do not destroy the ozone nor do they cause health or birth defects problems.

In addition to the more popular know facts about the benefits of renewable energy, there are a few more facts which may not be well publicized, such as the reduction of foreign economical exchanges, reduced demand for foreign resource dependency, and the elimination of water, soil and air contamination. Renewable energycan also provideglobal benefits to many third world countries and regions that do not have access to electricity and power sources.

Sudden Weight Gain, Any Cause For Concern?

Do you experience sudden weight gain like 5, 10 lbs in just matter of months?

Even when you're doing everything right - exercise regularly, eat a healthy diet, sleep well.....?

This kind of weight gain is definitely not due to lack of exercise and over-eating; we've ruled that out per above.

And you'd want to rule out illness and sickness too, as a cause.

Other than these mentioned 3 factors, there are some other factors which you might want to look deeper into.

What are these other factors?

1. Drugs And Medications

Medications used to treat arthritis, asthma, diabetes and drugs like antidepressants and mood stabilizers may contribute to your weight gain suddenly.

If you're on drugs and medications and suspect that they affect your weight big time, don't on your own stop taking them; talk to your doc first, to find out whether you can change to another drug or medication which won't cause you to put on weight.

2. Edema

Edema or swelling in your body as a result of build-up of fluids may lead to quick weight gain that occurs in just days or weeks.

P/S: Edema could be the result of heart or kidney disease

And common medications such as non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs can cause fluid retention too.

3. Hypothyroidism (or underactive thyroid)

It happens when your thyroid gland doesn't produce enough thyroid hormone.

Thyroid hormone regulates your metabolism and in this case, an underactive thyroid slows down your metabolism, causing you slow in burning off calories.

4. Essential Fatty Acid Deficiency

Your body needs essential fatty acids to produce hormones, to maintain your body's metabolism system. If you're lacking in essential fatty acids, it may cause you to have craving for fatty foodstuff. As you know, foods high in fat are high in calories and if you don't have a high metabolic rate to burn them off, you pile on pounds.

5. Blood Sugar Imbalance

Eating lots of simple, refined carbohydrates can cause blood sugar levels to shoot up and then crash down.

Your body releases insulin to get the sugar to be stored away and your blood sugar levels to be lowered, which can in turn makes you crave more for sweets and sugary stuff in order to stabilize your blood sugar levels.

This can leave you feeling tired, hungry, and weak - and gives your body an easy opportunity to convert the carbohydrates to fat, causing you to gain weight.

I think the above would be good guidelines to get you dig deeper into the reasons for your sudden weight gain.

Identify the cause and deal with it appropriately.
